The paint on your car may have it, the lip gloss you may be wearing has it, and now the Bennett Wheels have it. The new Alligator 62mm wheels from Bennett are sparkling with tiny shimmering…something. All we know is, we really like them.

We’re branching out a little, and have added Mountainboards to the mix. These boards can be used on pavement, but are more at home when you take them to the dirt trails. Mountainboards use much wider trucks to accommodate the large diameter pneumatic tires. A few of the models include bindings to keep the board attached to your feet. The Mountainboards come either fully pre-assembled or partially assembled. One major difference when you purchase a Mountainboard from us, is that we will remove the board from the shipping box and tune it. Tuning involves making sure the hardware is tight, trucks are adjusted, and tires are inflated properly [tires may loose slight pressure during shipping].

We’ve always wanted to showcase some of the artwork that our customers have created for the popular TLS Basic Longboards, but thought we would begin receiving more examples if we added a free box of 24 crayons with every TLS Basic deck or complete sold. We are gathering up as many boxes that we can find to supply this promotion as long as possible.

We have been slowly trying to make the stickers more edgy, and reduce the amount of cuteness. So, this round, we have a cute squirrel frolicking through the grass growing over soil filled with aliens. I am not really sure what this means, but it looked cool. The second one is rated PG13, and it would have been rated R if the old man had succeeded. This sticker pretty much speaks for itself, and it makes us laugh.

We just received a shipment of longboards from a fairly new company called Sayshun out of Calgary. We were very impress with these board coming right out of the box. The wood, graphics, and die cut grip tape were very detailed.

We brought in a new brand of helmets this week. The Bern Watts series helmets for men offer a vented back side, visor, and some with graphics. There are also 5 new Bern women’s helmets, some with graphics as well. These helmets are considered action sport helmets, which can be used for snow sports, biking, and skate.

We received a shipment from Sayshun Longboards today, our most recent find for the Fresh Produce section. All of us were very impressed with each board as they were being unpacked and found the graphics to be on par with some of the more seasoned companies. The quality of materials and craftsmanship were what you would expect to see on a Canadian speedboard. We hope to see much more from Sayshun and possibly an early graduation from the Fresh Produce section.

I would like to take a moment to welcome Crystal, our new photographer. In addition to being our Photoshop guru, some of you may have chatted with her during the day hours on our live chat system. Crystal comes to us with loads of longboarding experience from riding with her dad, who is also a passionate longboarder. If you have any suggestions for her [photography related], use the quick contact form on the home page, and let us know to forward it on to her.

I wish I could say there was a story behind both of these stickers, but honestly, I think I was hungry during their creation. We often like to hit up Sonic for their 2pm to 4pm happy hour and get very large brain freezing slushies. We love these new stickers very much, and don’t think they will last very long this time.

System Skate has introduced a new urethane shock riser that we are now using on most of our stock completes. The new riser allows for installation on old and new school hole patterns, and can be facing forward or toward the inside of the longboard. The logo is raised with the script “Mudflap, by System Skate”, which gives it a very finished appearance. The Mudflap is 1/8″ thick and made from injection molded urethane, the same material used in longboard wheels and bushings.
